Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Advanced Education Certificate Program
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry offers two courses of study:
- a 48-month course leading to a certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery. This course is conducted at the Ostrow School of Dentistry and the LAC+USC Medical Center and provides graduates with the necessary background for certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The course is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
- a 72-month MD/certificate course, offered in conjunction with the Keck School of Medicine of USC, which leads to a medical degree in addition to the certificate.
Note that this program does not accept international applicants.

How to Apply
The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC uses theAmerican Dental Education Association’s Postdoctoral Application Support Service (PASS) centralized application for its specialty certificate programs. Supplemental materials are not to be sent to the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry.
In addition to the PASS, all Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program applicants must submit a non-refundable processing fee of $85 ($145 for international applicants).

This program also uses the Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program (Match) to help place residents.
Cost of Attendance
Residents receive a monthly stipend during training.
