Clinics
Ostrow operates multiple clinics where care is needed most — such as the USC Dental Clinic at Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles’ Skid Row. Several mobile dentistry programs, including the USC Mobile Clinic, take oral health services to underserved areas through partnerships with schools, nonprofits and communities.
Educational Programs
Ostrow engages in several innovative educational programs aimed at training health professionals to recognize dental disease and understand its impact. For instance, we provide tools for school nurses to properly diagnose and refer children in need of dental services. We also help raise awareness of oral health disparities and encourage under-represented students to consider careers in the oral health professions.
Health Fairs & Screenings
Each year, Ostrow’s faculty, staff and students participate in dozens of health fairs and screenings across Southern California, providing free oral screenings and health education to thousands of community members.
Initiatives
We’ve made it a priority to reduce disparities in oral health — in services, education and professional practice. Our initiatives give under-represented elementary and high school students opportunities to learn more about oral health careers and provide scholarships and support for their education.
Affiliations
The Ostrow School has several strategic affiliations with other heathcare facilities throughout Southern California. Our students, residents and faculty provide valuable oral healthcare services through established rotations.
