From a club dedicated to dental practice management to one that gives students public speaking opportunities, Ostrow offers its students nearly 30 clubs to meet like-minded peers, develop professional skills and explore aspects of dentistry outside the classroom. Academy of General Dentistry Student Chapter of USC FellowTrack Program (AGD)
AGD aims to explore and promote academic and career issues related to the field of general dentistry and helps students get to know each other outside the classroom.
American Association of Public Health Dentistry (AAPHD)
The USC chapter of AAPHD works to educate Ostrow community members about dental public health by holding events and services to fill public health needs.
Armenian Dental Student Association (ADSA)
ADSA aims to promote a better understanding of the Armenian culture.
Ayuda International (Ayuda)
Ayuda is a nonprofit humanitarian dental, medical and educational organization that works to improve and sustain the oral health of people in underserved areas of the world.
Biomimetic Restorative Dentistry Study Club (BRD)
BRD’s mission is to identify and understand some of dentistry’s most critical problems and educate future leaders about how to address them.
Chabad at USC
Chabad provides students with opportunities to learn about Jewish culture.
Chinese Dental Student Association (CDSA)
This group aims to foster and develop professionalism and fellowship amongst students interested in Chinese culture.
Christian Medical Dental Association (CMDA)
This faith-based community gives students the opportunity to encourage each other, gain insight from local dental professions and take part in an annual dental mission trip to Guatemala.
Dental Humanitarian Outreach Program (DHOP)
DHOP pairs USC dental students, faculty and alumni with local and international humanitarian groups to provide the highest quality of periodontal treatment, operative dentistry and oral surgery to those around the globe who need it most.
Dental Student Speaker’s Bureau (DSSB)
DSSB gives first- and second-year dental students community outreach experience with speaking engagement opportunities in front of various community groups, including parent groups, senior centers and Mommy & Me classes.
Diversity Student Dental Association (DSDA)
Based on the recognition that there is strength in diversity, this club promotes multicultural global awareness throughout the dental school and beyond.
G.V. Black Dental Society
The G.V. Black Dental Society’s objective is to promote public welfare through the advancement of the dental profession in education, science and mutual fellowship.
Hispanic Student Dental Association (HSDA)
As the leading voice for Hispanic oral health, the HSDA provides service, education, advocacy and leadership to both Hispanic and underserved communities.
Korean-American Dental Student Association (KDSA)
KDSA is one of the largest student groups at Ostrow. It provides dental education to the non-English speaking Korean community and helps Korean dental students assimilate into the dental school.
Lecture Series Study Club (LSSC)
LSSC aims to empower students by exposing them to additional lecture material on classically difficult subject matters.
Lucy Hobbs Taylor Society (Lucy Hobbs)
Lucy Hobbs is a club that works to promote women in dentistry, pairing first- and second-year dental students and helping create bonds to last throughout dental school and beyond.
MARANATHA serves to provide a time and space for fellowship, which includes a weekly discussion about the historical Christian faith.
Middle Eastern Dental Student Association (MEDSA)
MEDSA explores and promotes academic and career issues related to dentistry and helps club members form bonds outside of the classroom and laboratory.
Oral Surgery Study Club (OS Study Club)
OS Study Club strives to educate dental students about oral surgery through lectures and demonstrations and lays out the steps necessary to pursue the residency.
Orthodontic Study Club
This club promotes dental students interested in pursuing postgraduate residency programs in orthodontics.
Periodontology Study Club (Perio Study Club)
This study club helps further students’ knowledge in periodontology and helps guide students interested in periodontology to pursue a residency.
Persian Dental Student Association (PDSA)
PDSA is a non-political, non-religious student organization that sponsors Persian social and cultural activities and events to promote a better understanding of the Persian culture.
Practice Management Study Club
This club exposes students to the essentials of practice management and financial basics to aid in a better transition to real-world practice.
Sports Dental Society (SDS)
SDS merges members’ passion for sports with that for dentistry. The club aims to help athletes maintain proper oral health while enjoying sports.
Strength in Ergonomics (Strength in Ergo)
Strength in Ergonomics’ purpose is to help dental health care professionals strengthen their ergonomic foundation ito sustain a long and prosperous careers.
Student National Dental Association (SNDA)
SNDA aims to increase minority enrollment and retention in dental schools; educate members about the profession’s social, moral and ethical obligations; and provide dental care to all, with an emphasis on minorities and the underserved.
Student Professionalism and Ethics Association (SPEA)
SPEA is a national association established to promote and support student’s commitment to ethical behavior to benefit their patients and to further dentistry.
USC Alpha Omega Tau Chapter (AO)
AO is a dental fraternity founded on Jewish morals and values. The fraternity boasts a diverse group of members from different faiths, races, genders and ethnic backgrounds.
USC Endo Study Club
USC Endo Study Club aims to teach dental students about endodontics with lectures, literature reviews and hands-on workshops.
Women in Dentistry
This club promotes gender equality and mentors young women interested in STEM professions.
