USC University of Southern California

General Practice

Advanced Specialty Certificate Program

The 12-month General Practice Residency Program provides residents a broad range of experience as they rotate through oral surgery, emergency medicine, anesthesia, care for the disabled, and other disciplines. Approximately 60 percent of the resident’s time is devoted to delivery of oral health care.

Residents train under the supervision of the faculties of the Ostrow School of Dentistry and the Keck School of Medicine of USC, primarily at the LAC+USC Medical Center and the L.A. Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic. Some training is also conducted at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry.

The program is designed in conformance with the guidelines of the Council on Dental Education and the Commission on Accreditation of the American Dental Association. A certificate is awarded upon satisfactory completion of the program.

Note that this program does not accept international applicants.
