Clinical Experience

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Program

First-year Doctor of Dental Surgery students at the Ostrow School benefit from significant pre-clinical experience, education and training in all of the processes related to restorative dentistry. Students develop their skills on simulators, learning the latest techniques for restoring teeth to their proper form and function so they can transition seamlessly to direct patient care by the end of their first year in the program.

Patient care experiences in the DDS program include collectively serving some 12,000 patients in the school’s faculty-supervised, student-run oral health clinics, as well as providing free services to more than 17,500 low-income individuals each year through the Ostrow School’s Mobile Dental Clinic, health fairs and other community service programs.
