Student AmbassadorsStudent life

The Student Ambassador Program promotes leadership and student involvement. Our Ambassadors serve as official student representatives of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. They play an important role in the recruitment of potential students and public relations/alumni development activities.

Each fall we select enthusiastic and diverse individuals that are qualified to represent the Dental School. They serve a one year term but are always encouraged to re-apply. We only get once chance to make a first impression which is why our Student Ambassadors are so important to us.

Mentor Program

Our Mentor Program is based on alumni participation with our 3rd and 4th year students who will either pursue general dentistry or advanced specialty programs post graduation. The program is specially designed for students to be matched with an alumnus that is bested suited to their needs, i.e., if a student is interested in Orthodontics post graduation, he/she will be matched with an Orthodontic alumnus. We are currently working with the USC Century Club to provide the alumni who will be mentoring our students.

Student HelpSpeaker Series

Working alongside the USC Century Club, alumni are invited to speak once a month to share their experiences and expertise in the dental profession. It is open to all students who wish to attend. Dates are being scheduled so please check back for upcoming details on future speakers.

Scholarships

There is a month-long scholarship drive held in the month of March, which we aptly call “March Maddness”. All current students (excluding the graduating classes) are eligible to apply for certain scholarships. Most scholarship criteria are based on financial need and academic standing. For more information about scholarships, please stop by the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs, Room 201.

Aside from “March Maddness”, there are several scholarships available through the various branches of the armed forces. Recruiters from the US Air Force, Army, National Guard and Navy, are readily available to meet with students whom may be interested in obtaining financial assistance. For more information, please contact the USC School of Dentistry recruiter for which branch you are interested in.
