Dental Explorers
The Dental Explorers Program (DEP) is a two week program which offers an exciting learning opportunity for exceptional and motivated college bound high school students with a parallel core offering for currently enrolled college students. The goal of the program is to assist in the development of a diverse pool of future professionals by introducing talented students, especially those from historically underrepresented, low income and/or disadvantaged backgrounds to the dental profession.
The curriculum includes team building exercises, clinic shadowing experiences, a variety of hands-on clinical exercises and lecture on topical dentistry issues. All participants are expected to attend all sessions of the program and keep a daily journal of activities.
Southern California Regional Post-Baccalaureate Program
The USC School of Dentistry offers a specialized Post Baccalaureate experience to assist students from under-represented backgrounds achieve their goal of becoming successful dental school applicants.
The program, in cooperation with the 3 other southern California dental schools, begins with a four week summer program offered through the USC, UCLA, and Loma Linda dental schools. This program focuses on a review of prerequisite sciences courses and concepts covered on the DAT examination as well as interpersonal skills, interviewing skills and study skills.

Summer Research 
Each summer, several incoming DDS students have the opportunity to pair up with School of Dentistry faculty members and conduct research -- a great way to experience groundbreaking science in a profoundly hands-on way.
Participating in research is a valuable way to see classroom concepts come to life, as well as develop great working relationships with USC’s renowned dental faculty.

Mentor Program
We are currently working on implementing a Mentor Program for our current 3rd and 4th year students. Speaker Series
We are working on implementing a Speaker Series for alumni to come in and share their experience and expertise in the dental profession. We are currently seeking alumni to volunteer an evening to engage our students for about an hour to speak on a topic they so choose.
