The Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC is pleased to announce the hiring of Douglas Solow, DDS, MBA, who will join the Ostrow team as the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs.

In this role, Solow will oversee all clinical operations for the school, including dental clinics in Norris Dental Science Center and the Ostrow School of Dentistry Faculty Practice. Combined, these clinics serve nearly 20,000 patients annually and play a critical role in the education of nearly 500 students each year.

“Doug’s proven background in clinical operations and leadership will be an important addition to our education and patient care services,” said Avishai Sadan, dean of the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC.

Solow joins USC in January of 2014 from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, where he currently serves as the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs. Sadan said Solow was selected following a national search that included well-known and respected candidates.

Sadan also thanked Interim Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs Michael Mulvehill and noted that he will continue to play a pivotal role in the school’s success moving forward. In addition, he thanked members of the faculty and staff who assisted in the interview and selection process.

Solow earned his DDS from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed his MBA with a focus in Healthcare Administration at Duke University.

Since 1897, the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC has educated thousands of the world’s most talented and trusted dental professionals. The school is also an international leader in dental and craniofacial research and a pioneer in serving populations who lack access to dental care.
