A contribution from Derick and Yoko Tagawa, longtime supporters of the Ostrow School of Dentistry and the University of Southern California, will enable the creation of a modern, welcoming consultation room within the school’s Graduate Orthodontic Clinic.

Once completed, the renovated consultation space will contain new visual equipment for presentations as well as new furniture and decor. The room will provide a private, comfortable space for patients and their families to discuss their orthodontic treatment with residents and faculty members, said Avishai Sadan, dean of the Ostrow School of Dentistry.

“The Derick and Yoko Tagawa Consultation Room will be a warm, reassuring environment that conveys our goal of providing high quality, patient-centered outcomes and experiences,” Sadan said.

Derick Tagawa received his DDS from the Ostrow School of Dentistry in 1968 and also received his specialty certificate in Orthodontics from USC. Now retired from orthodontic practice, he is an accomplished lecturer, author, and consultant and has received many awards from organizations throughout the dental profession. He is a member of the Ostrow School of Dentistry Board of Councilors, and he and his wife Yoko are members of the USC Associates.
