Ostrow School of Dentistry’s Century Club Reaches Out to Colleagues in Japan
From July 22-26, Ostrow School of Dentistry Dean Avishai Sadan and Century Club President Scott Adishian visited students of the Comprehensive Training in Modern Dentistry Program, an extensive nine-month program for Japanese dentists to learn the latest dental techniques developed in the United States.
During their visit, Sadan hosted a reception for and lectured to the more than 40 students in the program during a two-day course on Comprehensive Esthetic Dentistry. Following the course, Adishian and the Century Club hosted a banquet for students and their families.
“This has given us a great opportunity to truly become colleagues and friends with our fellow dental professionals in Japan,” Adishian said.
The Ostrow School of Dentistry’s international outreach has provided a personal connection to the School and to USC in general for students of the program. Several 2009 graduates of the program have become supporters of the School by becoming international members of the Century Club, the School’s alumni support group, Adishian added.
In September, the students will travel to USC to complete the final 3 days of the program and take part in a formal graduation ceremony.
“This is such an exciting time for the School, and it’s a great time to be welcoming more people into the Trojan Dental Family,” said Adishian, who is also President of the newly reestablished Ostrow School of Dentistry Alumni Association.
Sadan lauded Adishian’s work with the Century Club and the Alumni Association to revive and strengthen the School’s position and reputation within the Pacific Rim. He also emphasized the outstanding work done by the Ostrow School of Dentistry Office of Continuing Education team.
“Our Associate Dean of Continuing Education, Ilan Rotstein, and his dedicated team allow us to continue to disseminate the message of excellence in dentistry via our national and international CE programs,” Sadan said. “Their success adds meaningful value to our School’s brand recognition and brings in supportive affiliates for our Century Club.”
